This article is fantastic!
McKenzie breaks down all of the intelligences and lists what technologies are suited to help each learner.
"By taking the intelligences into consideration, teachers can more effectively make
use of the technologies they have at their disposal for instruction. The key is to place
consideration of the intelligences into the media selection process after the learner
and objective but before actually considering your technology options. In this way,
teachers can avoid allowing technology to dictate their instructional choices and put it
in its proper place in instruction: as a delivery vehicle for content, concepts and skills." --McKenzie, 2002
As a technology geek I have to remember that educational technology is not about all the bells and whistles, technology in the classroom is about helping students learn. McKenzie reminds us that things like pencils and textbooks are also technologies, and although modern technology certainly has it's place in the classroom we also need to remember that we do not need to incorporate the latest technology into every lesson.
