Davis doesn't define everything for her students she allows them to research the meaning of terms and how to perform certain tasks. This helps her students learn how to learn.
2. What does Davis mean when she talks about empowerment? How can you empower students in school and at home?
Davis gives students the power to choose what they are going to do and how they are going to accomplish this task. You empower students by giving them choices.
3. Do you think it's important for kids to collaborate with the other students across the world? Why, or why not?
Absolutely! Students can learn from each other, the can share ideas and receive feedback from students all over the world. What better way to learn about another culture than to speak to someone from that culture.
4. Davis didn't let her rural location keep her from getting students connected to the world. What sort of challenges would your school community need to make international collaboration an integral part of your curriculum?
We would definitely need more internet access for the students, and we would need to have more teachers willing to incorporate technology into their classrooms.
